Chess For Juniors
When: Wednesdays, 2-3 p.m.
6 sessions, June 16, 23, July 7, 14, 21 & August 4, 2004.
Where: Activities Center, 3121 Carey, Cheyenne, WY
Who: Beginning/Intermediate Students, ages 7-16.
About the Class: The class will cover basic rules and strategy. No prior knowledge is required. Students will be assigned opponents for in-class practice. Instructor will supply chess sets.
Instructor: Robert M. Snyder, National Chess Master, Author, TV Show host, Western U.S. Champion and full time professional chess trainer. Mr. Snyder's students have taken first place in championship sections at the national scholastic championships 35 times! His is founder of one of the largest and most active chess club's for youth, CHESS FOR JUNIORS (www.chessforjuniors.com) based in Fort Collins, Colorado. Mr. Snyder received the 1998 "Chess Educator of the Year" award.
Optional Text Book: "CHESS FOR JUNIORS" (basic rules and stragegy - $15) & "UNBEATABLE CHESS LESSONS FOR JUNIORS" (for more advanced students - $16), written by the instructor will be available at the first class meeting.
